I have a mate who is a dispatch rider in London who snatches mobile phones all the time.

Admittedly he snatches them off yuppie wankers in convertible cars when he sees them driving while talking on it and immediately throws it on the road under their wheels.

Oddly, he hasn't been reported to the police by anyone yet.
