Hi bandit has had quite a strong smell of fuel since I got it about 6 weeks ago, however last couple days I'd say it's gotten stronger. Now this morning when I moved her off centre stand I noticed some fuel a small patch underneath fairing on front and some actually on the fairing.

What's the verdict?

Ok just had a look and it's leaking all over the engine and suspect its have been like this a little while by the colour of things, wires are soaked in it. Will get into garage pronto today

i binned my carb heaters as they were getting in the way (wires under your carbs)

eek thats bad, as CanSa said, its more likely to be a perished fuel hose - unless the over flow pipes have become detached/ leaky tank?

just have a look your self, take seat off, take tank off.

if you still cant see, pull the carbs off - sounds a big job but its 30 mins

Ok cheers for that

Booked in later to have someone in the know let me know what's up, I don't have a clue with this sort of thing and it seems worse than I first thought!

Update - took it to garage, guy made a couple of adjustments, no longer any leaking, will keep an eye on it overnight but fingers crossed was nothing major! Upside found a local small garage who seem trustworthy

Trustworthy until you realise their small adjustment was nothing more than putting a tighter clip on the fuel line. Laughing

Did he tell you what was causing it?

Yeah maybe Laughing

He said to see how it is tomorrow and if it's leaking again then they'll take it apart.

He said there was no fuel on top? Or words to that affect

That the guy I bought it from looked like he'd tinkered with it

Who knows I'm technically retarded but it looks a lot better anyway!

There's been a pretty strong smell of fuel since I have had it so I think it's been more a of a gradual thing but I can't explain it as I don't have a Fucken clue what I'm on about!! Rolling Eyes
