Please dont rape me for posting this, as i HAVE searched and read previous posts. What i wanted to ask is i have an SR 125 and it seems to drink oil (leaking from somewhere) and i havent got time to replace the gasket wherever its leaking at the moment so i just want to top it up cheaply for a while.
What car oils have you used in the past that havent ruined the clutch?
I heard Castrol GTX works so if there are no cheaper ones ill just get that.
Texaco Havoline is cheap but apparently that wrecks clutches.

Any others?

Cheers!

I have used castrol GTX in my bikes for years, my old GPZ500s has passed 50k miles running on the stuff. Just don't use the magnatech as it DOES make your clutch slip due to its added slipperyness stuff.

My mate used to use bog-standard Shell helix in his Z650 with no ill effects and if it was going to cause a problem it would have done in that because it was a bag-o-shite just waiting to fall apart at any excuse.

Hi

Used BP Visco 2000 (mineral oil), Visco 3000 (semi synthetic) and Visco 5000 (fully synthetic) in my bikes without clutch problems.

All the best

Keith

Always wondered if I could just dump some tasty Quaker State or Mobil 1 full synthetic in my Gixxer...

...any objections? Rolling Eyes
