I've seen a CG replica I might just go and pick up. It's cheap, and apparently runs well and looks in good nick. Has about 4000 miles. £450.
I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a right toilet once I get it.

I sent a text message to the seller earlier, asking to confirm it is indeed a CG replica. (It is listed as a 'Honda Warrior Dispatch') I also asked to what speed it climbs to and how well it gets there.
My reply was that it IS a HONDA and that it tops out at 75mph.
To be honest I call bullshit
CGs only top 60 if you're lucky. And his honesty about the bikes origins has made me a little weary.

Could it be possible that the seller is completely unaware that it is a copy?
Isn't there a document he should have which would confirm it's real identity?
And 75mph... is that anywhere near it's capability?

There isn't much of any info anywhere on the internet... Make's me think the guy just peeled off his Hongdou letters and replaced them with Warrior Dispatch because he thought it sounded better..

Anyway, any comments?

Looks like the seller and I have been spelling Dispatch wrong, it's 'Despatch'
Might offer a few more clues.

Both spellings are acceptable although I prefer "despatch" myself.

As for the bike; assuming it's not rusty, running like a bag of nails or falling apart it has to be worth £450 of anyone's money.

Go and see it, "discover" that it's a copy, gasp in feigned horror and start haggling.

But before buying check that you can get insurance for it at a reasonable price.

So remind me, how old is this one?

That said specs look ok to me for a commuter/despatch. If truly CG then engine should be ok and usually rusty bits (stainless mudguards Shocked ) also addressed.

BTW the telephone number in that 2002 article for Warrior is no longer in service. I'm really, really surprised by that Wink Rolling Eyes

Despatched one of these when they came out. Nippy for a CG copy, funky gear indicator, quite loud for a CG copy. V good on fuel.
Everything else is terrible, spokes snap, forks pit, brakes a bit hit and miss, gearbox kersplodes at speed and it is called 'Warrior'.
Please step away from the vehicle. Save up and get the CG.
