Spoke to the seller, sounds like a decent bloke. Pics on ad are about 6 months old. have asked for more recent, less professional pics.

Any obvious signs of misuse (not that you can tell much from those pics)?

Thanks in advanced
Ash

no way of telling really until you view the bike in person. Plus those pics look a bit too professional for my likely that kinda makes it seem dodgy.

My mare recently viewed a MTX125r, guy said it was working fine except the kick start didn't work but you could bump it. He brought it and we soon realized the kick start weren't working due to low compression (15 psi) so he's had to do a top end rebuild also, gear box oil was leaking so needed a new oil seal for the gear box. So just because on the internet it looks in good condition or even if you view it and it looks fine it can have hidden issues.

I have one of the same year, on 43,000 miles. Great bikes.

At that mileage, it should be pretty tidy tbh. Nothing major springs to mind that needs special attention when going to see.. just check for the usual rattles and bodywork all lining up.

I find mind gets through brake pads quite quickly, so check those too (obviously). Chain and sprockets should be in decent shape too for that mileage, probably on it's second set.

Other than that it looks good!

And the professional pics? I wouldn't see that as an issue.

Plenty of 'professional photographers' out there nowadays (any geeza with a rig and LS) who charge a small fee to take some pretty pics of your bike / car. I'd say the type that's likely to get their machine professionally photographed is likely to have some pride in it and have taken care of it, rather than be dodgy.

With all that said - still can't tell for toffee til you get there. BUT, going on your gut. if the guy that's selling it comes across alright and everything else stacks up, it's definitely worth seeing.

Much better than the last POS you posted a link to anyway Laughing

Valve clearances are due at 16k on these, fairly big job, but not a problem if you're handy with the spanners.

Can't really tell much else about the condition from the "professional" pictures. So professional the white balance in #2 is way too blue, but we're not critiquing the pictures. Razz

Why would pro pics ring alarm bells?!

It looks like he just done it some places way before selling it hence why its next to another bike!

Maybe he is just an amateur photographer.

Tbh it makes me feel he loved his bike if he wants to take nice pics of it.

Personally a photoshoot suggests a well loved bike to me too rather than dodgy.

On the other hand, 3 pics all from pretty much the same angle and from 6 months ago tell you pretty much nothing as a potential buyer. As said alrewady , Keep an open mind either way till you see it in the flesh.

Low mileage. Good condition (from photos). Pretty standard.

Seems to be around similar market value as to when I was looking at the end of last year. I think they're worth it.

Yes it is. "well loved" usually means "reluctant sale" which means over valued by the seller.

Interesting takes on the pro pics.

Re the price, I've been looking for a while and I think this is about the right bracket for these given the mileage and apparent condition. I'll probably be able to shave a ton or two perhaps if I sense he's going to budge and the bike is right.
