ER5 for sure. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it?s worth. |

The ER-5 no question. I wouldn't want to be seen riding along on a boat in the city! It looks like a boat with fairing to me. Anyone else agree? ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S

Jeeeeez. A 500cc sports scooter....why? I can see why they make big cc scooters with two comfy seats and all the trimmings (like a goldwing, only not) for those who want an automatic touring bike, but this is madness!
I think I may be joining the ER-5 club in a year or two |

The scooter would be a good "commuter" machine, motorways and that sort of thing, but if your going for something with that little imput then you'd be better off geting a car :/ though the anti traffic and parking points...
Giant scooters get allot of flack but they are very good at what they do, geting from one place to another with no fuss or supprises, the sort of bike your grandma would approve of... a duvalle makes these look pretty sorry.
The only giant scooter that really made me fwarrr is the GStrider Which is not going to be put into production
Bleh, automatics though  ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Isn't it a little biased asking on a mainly bike orientated forum!
I would still choose the ER-5 over the scoot though. Don't like the sitting position on scoots, or the lack of clutch. |

I'd be surprised if there is anyone on here who wouldn't rather have the ER-5 than the scooter. Not only does the scooter look crap in comparison (subjective I know...), but it has no clutch and consequently much less controlability.
I do like the way the top fairing and front wheel look on the scooter, but other than that, ____________________ I must not be a troll...

LOL@Scooter forum.
Course they're going to be biased, why wouldn't they be. They're trying to justify the existence of a 500cc automatic. And thats something I certainly can't do.
They of course say that the nexxus has better styling. Why is it that you look as if you're sitting on the bog then? Hardly a fashionable image that (sorry to offend scooter bods on this forum, at least we know you'll probably upgrade)
Scooters are great in town, I haven't ridden one but I'm quite confident saying that. However, isn't it all down to the rider, not the capabilities of the scooter? I know most scooter owners around my area ride like there's no tomorrow so no wonder they're quicker at getting from A to B. Its hardly a competition.
I'm sure half of them there are gilera employee's anyway, so its only natural that they defend that large sack of crap/hunk of junk/nancy boys bike/sofa with wheels. They get a kick out of something else. Fair play. Let them defend it. Makes me laugh as well, reading their little comments
P.S Dodsi, link them to this thread |

I would not be seen dead on that scooter. If I did get it, I would sell it on eBay. I think they will get most of there sales with young men with their mothers presant at the dealers asking for something for motorway commuting and comfort.
I am sorry but I would not touch that scooter with a barge pole. It is just UGLY! |
