No header clamps on replacement exhaust.

I've bought replacement exhaust systems for a 1997 GSX600F Katana, both sides off ebay, one has arrived with header clamps present. But one side does not.

Ho dow I solve this problem? It looks like the header clamps need to be put in place before the downpipes are attached to anything else during the manufacturing stage (if that's makes sense?)

Go get a refund?

You can get a workshop to make you a set of collars in two halves then go to a welder who will er weld them together.

It was an option with my CBR downpipes where the collars had snapped, it wasn't cheap.

Once I remove the old exhaust system I will gain 4 header clamps from that. I would need to cut the old pipes to remove them.

Would I be best to get a fitter in work to cut the new downpipes, slide on the header clamps, then re-weld the downpipes with the header clamps in position?

Edit: typed before I noticed link was posted
They have probably snapped off. Send back and find another pair - or make some....

you can probably make some temporary ones in a V shape with the exhaust stud hole at the bottom of the V and the tops of the V gripping the collar on the tube.

If its a replacement cut the old collars in half and you will be able to get them welded back up at a later date

Easiest way would be to cut end off old pipes slide collars off, let fitter cut the clamps and re-weld back round new exhaust

That makes sense,

I assumed it might be easier to weld the downpipe because of easy access. Wouldn't it be difficult to weld the inside of the clamp since the downpipe would get in the way?

They are not usually fixed and a decent welder will only have to weld from one side. So he could weld top half together then spin the clamp through 180 degrees and weld the other side.

Reason I say let fitter do it is once they have been cut in half then the will be slightly too small when rejoined and will more than likely need the stud holes elongating

I had to replace some rusted header clamps on my old XJ600 and thought the same thing. However, with copious application of heat and a good soaking in profanity the header pipes twisted and pulled out of the collector, so I could just slip the collars off/on. Well, three did... the final one I ended up cutting and reforming around the stubborn header.
