Ok, it's time to dump the textiles and get some proper leathers (nearly getting my knee down). Unfortunately, I can't find any that fit - there all just too long in the leg for my chest size.

So, what do you think to custom leathers? Or is it best to buy a known brand and get them altered?

I've found the below website, anyone heard of them? They have many designs, but can't find many reviews on them through google.

The price is OK - £600 ish.


Also, I was thinking of a one piece.. would you recommend this, or is a two piece best? I'd like to go a track day at some point.

Track days generally require one piece suits. No chance of them coming apart at the waist in a crash and you needing a body transplant.

Get the chest size to fit, and have the legs shortened. Easiest solution. Cutting the leather and sewing it up again won't take much doing...

When they've cut off the excess leg length, do send it them to me - I have the opposite problem. Mr. Green

Cheers. I'll be going for a one-piece.

I did find Hill 4 Leather, not too far from me... I guess I'll be trying on some suits.

I think the other problem with the alterations option, is I need to pick a design that can be customised without looking ridiculous... no writing on the thigh etc..
