So I passed my CBT a couple of weeks ago and due to weather and being away, not been out on the bike other than to and from work.

So anyway, thought its a nice evening and went out for a little ride!

I was just leisurely pottering around some local country lanes, when I see a red Corsa in my mirror, practically pushing me along!!

I was doing 50 along most of the straights and slowing a bit for corners and round one particular corner, he appeared beside me!

He frightened the bejesus out of me and then cut in front of me!
Anyway, I grabbed the front brake and as he looked in his mirror, I shook my head, partly at myself for braking so hard.

He then slowed down to the point I had to change down to first and crawl along behind him, we get to a junction, he goes right, so I deliberately went left.

The next thing, he's behind me again!!
The pr*cky little twat had turned around to follow me!!!
He was pushing me along again, so I turned into a little road and then panicked and pulled into a steep uphill driveway, lost my balance, dropped my bike and snapped the brake lever Doh!

Pissed off at this little d*ckhead and pissed off at myself for dropping my bike! Sad

Anyone else experienced shit like this?
Or was it my fault?
Dont feel like I did anything wrong.

This is a prime example of why you should be able to ride a Fireblade when you're 17. 125's are dangerous.

Congratulations on not being raped.

Was definitely the same guy!
No one saw, was up a country lane in a drive way (probably not sensible now I think about it!) I managed to pick it up myself and luckily there was enough brake lever left to be able to use it.
Just gutted I dropped it

Have you got a nice arse? He may have just been hypnotised by it and needed to see more Laughing

Just chalk him down as a dick head. Remember the car if you see it parked at a house don't go back at night and definitely don't slash the tyres

Yes, unfortunately. It seems to be a game for men who've spotted a lone woman on a bike. It's like being bullied but worse...

I had it happen to me a few years back on the A30. Myself and the van driver who helped me pull my wee 400cc out of the ditch I was driven into - had memorised the car numberplate so we both reported the incident.

I was scared too. Rolling Eyes

You didn't do anything wrong by the sounds of it. Next time anything like this happens, pull over and stop to let crazies past. The chances of having an accident when under stress is so much higher.

Unfortunately some people see the L plates and think they can bully/abuse the biker. Other times they assume they'll be slow and over take you when you your doing over 30 in a 30 zone.

These sound like a tw*t in a chavved up corsa who probably though it was funny to mess with the L plate biker. Rolling Eyes

Personally, being a 6ft 4in guy, wearing body armor and helmet, I'd have been tempted to casually slow to a stop, get off, and have a word with the c*nt.

But best just to pull over, ride slower and slower if he's tailgating and let the tw*t past. Optionally depriving him a passenger wing mirror as he drives past. Wink

No

Fireblade's can do 170mph. Corsa's can't do 170mph.

Just another day, forget about it as it's a new day tomorrow. Had a car driver come from nowhere from a bend when i pulled out to start my journey (did my checks too), he must have been doing 50-60 at least the prick in a 30 with speed humps too, then he slowed down and tried to give me the windscreen washer treatment which failed then he tried to get me to pull over, i just overtook him. He also turned up his stereo so i could hear his bass music ?!?! WTF?

Later on i nearly got sided into by a prick in a car at a roundabout even when i had right of way because he saw L-Plates and thought he was faster than me.

L-Plate life is shit to say the least, but i will be back on the road tomorrow as i enjoy it too much with everything from the day before cleared from memory. Can't wait for my full license though Smile

It was most likely some chavvy creep with rejection issues.

It's easy to say, but try not to let people like that rattle you. Ride normally and let him be a knob but pull over somewhere safe if you feel threatened or he gets too close.

He probably has a teeny tiny penis and was trying to make himself feel more douchey. Sorry! Manly.

No you didn't, ride your own ride and fuck what the idiot in the corsa thinks. Carvel is pointing out that if you were allowed to ride a faster bike at 17 you may have been able to get away from the nob driving the corsa.

In future if I was you in the same situation keep on riding at your own pace and find somewhere well lit and busy ie a pub before stopping and phoning for help (if needed)

stay safe

May have been able get away from you if you were on something bigger than a 125? Back in the day, a 2T 125 pissed on everything short of an M3.

Quite frankly, if anyone in a Corsa (or equivelent, it was 20 years ago) got anywhere near my RG125, it was because I was ill and was stopping to throw up every 100 yards....

As above, always find somewhere safe to pull over and let them go on their way. Have you not got anyone else local to you that you can go out riding with?

Not remotely your fault however - there are just some very sad people in this world. Probably jealous of the bike!

Depends. Did you make a mental note of the plate and a strong resolve to key the panels and remove the wing mirrors the next time you it parked up.

If so, no, you're spot on Smile

The world is full of mentally deficient people and they pop up at any time. Just be on your game and be cool....... easy to say of course.

This. Get the phone easy accessible just in case they pull over. But sadly L plates tend to get bullied. I had a student bullied briefly today out on CBT. Less than half a mile from the yard an audi forces his way between my 2 students in front and then almost sits on the pillion seat of the 125cc. At the lights I pulled up beside him, gently almost broke his window. I mean tapped his window and told him to give my students room. He then tried to force his way forward so I put my bike in his way. It was only then he wound his window down to try and have a go back. I was begging him to step out of his car. I stayed in his way until my student got moving. Took a few stalls because he was spooked.

Part of riding bikes is dealing with the idiots. Brush it off. Tomorrow you have to deal with another set of idiots on the road.

This is why I carry a helmet camera whenever I'm riding. You could've got him totally fucked for endangering your life like that.

As already said, sadly some drivers bully anything with L plates and its always best to pull over as more likely something bad will happen if you're stressed.

A petrol station is a good place to pull into as it will almost always have good CCTV in case things escalate.
