Hello everyone,

I've been wondering lately on what to do with the next few stages of my project ER5. Laughing

I've got all the bits I need now to convert it to rear disc but I'm unsure on what to do once it has been swapped, do I need to notify the DVLA? I know I need to tell them of the colour change that will be done at some point, but what about brake swaps? Will it need to be re-MOT'd to show that it is safe?

Also, What is best for removing old paint from wheels, tanks and frames? I've heard mixed reviews on Nitromors so what would be better?

Thanks! Thumbs Up Very Happy

Hi

Doubt the DVLA will care, but insurance almost certainly will.

All the best

What evidence would I need to show them (if any) that it's safe?

Nitromors USED to be good - now its shite.

Unsure about the MOT & DVLA but if the paint isn't a standard finish your quickest way will be petrol and a stiff brush.

If its a standard finish probably sanding, or blasting is the fastest way or industrial paint stripper

Insurance are a law to themselves. They might not want any proof, or they might want an independent engineers report depending on the company

All the best

You could try paramose but you need a good reason to buy it - it's illegal for sale to the general public, it's for trade only.
