Well, it's with a heavy heart that I'm thinking about selling my beloved cbr Crying or Very sad She's a '91 "H" plater in need of someone to love her.

I'll be as honest as i can, the only thing wrong with her is that she won't start off the button, & I simply don't have the spare cash or the time at the moment to get her sorted. As a result, she spends all her time locked away in the garage, & i'd rather someone else had some fun on her & I can just put the cash towards a new ride when I do have the time.

She will, however, bump start no bother, which is why I was thinking she would make an ideal track day toy for one of you, & once started, she's an absolute blast to ride hence the reluctance. Crying or Very sad

Failing that, any pointers in the direction of a '91-'94 ish engine would be greatly appreciated, Wink

Allrite mate, will it start after charging the battery or without the lights on? i had exactly the same problem with mine (92-j) and in the end it just died outside the pub one night and nothing! (Remember that keith?alex?) and it was the starter relay which was about £70

Worth a try if you want to keep it because people will take advantage and give you a really low price if theres something wrong! (Well i would anyhow Laughing )

Starts by bumping no problems, which is why I'm very reluctant to sell in the first place.

Sorry i don't really know anyone on here don't really frequent such places, my mummie always warned me about such things. But why you want a new engine? if you bump it and it starts and runs perfectly you wana get a new engine? maybe i clicked two pages at once? surely the issues with the starting setup as mentioned b4? i mean i would be looking at things like does it have charge at all when u try to start? does it click? can u hear the starter motor? does the engine turn over? and try and sort that coz to me i don't see how a new engine can sort it unless its something like a start mounter in which case your paying alot of money for a starter motor surely?

..... the battery's fully charged, but nothing from the button at all Wink

...... as i've said, absolutely bugger all from the button

Apparently at some point in her life, she's had a bodge done on the crank casings..... or summat, & that's what's gone. Hence the search for a new motor altogether, this one's showing promise, bike's virtually the same, (apart from damage) been in contact with him & the engine's fine, less mileage than mine for a start.........

thanks again for all the replies fellas, will keep you all posted Wink
