I've recently gotten a Suzuki VL 125 and I have had it going once properly, but can't get it to keep working.

When I got the bike, I was fully aware that the starter motor needs to be checked/fixed but was told I could bump start the bike and shouldn't haven any problems.

Since then I've not really had much chance of the bike running.
Today I've replaced the throttle cables and did a brief clean of the carburettor then went to test it, the bike would start after a bump but not last for very long before cutting out (I think the most was probably around a minute).

I've been wondering since today If the issue is a blocked fuel line.
However, If anyone has any ideas, they're all welcome and It is really appreciated.

What's wrong with the starter? When you cleaned the carb did you check all the jets were clear or just remove the bowl and plaster it all in carb cleaner? Does the bike keep running longer if you apply a small amount of throttle? What colour is the plug? Have you checked the fuel filter?

The starter motor isn't working at the moment, I've still to check the connection to make sure it's the motor and not the solenoid.

When we cleaned it last night was advised first just to spray some carb cleaner into the bowl, we did take out the diaphragm and checked the jet needle which was clear, and yeah twisting the throttle every now and then was keeping the engine going.

(still new to all this, so am sorry if I sound like a tool).

Does the bike hunt alot at idle or is it quite steady until it cuts out?
