Hi all I have a honda mtx 125 k plate.

Now my problem it all works lights and indicators but when it revs over 4k lights work but nothing else dose .. The battery isn't any good and this will be replaced in the next few days will this fix the problem or is there something else?

battery most probably will solve it.

But is the battery dead due to age, from the bike overcharging or not charging at all.

Get a multimeter and check the DC 12V voltage on the battery while its running.

Should be around 13.5 -15v. Any more or less and you've got a charging system fault.

It should be around 14-15v when the engine is being revved to, say, 4-5k If it's above that then the charging system is suspect. With a dead battery, it can easily pull the output of the charging system down below this so a lower reading does not necessarily indicate a charging system problem.

Check the battery voltage with everything switched off. It should be around 12.5v for a healthy battery. If it's much below 12v then it may need replacing.

My bets are on reg/rec. But as already said, check the battery reading while the motor is running, give it a little rev and see what it says.
