Clutch cable snapped and I'm too much of a girl to ride without it so I'm sat the side of the road waiting for a very Yorkshire sounding man to take me home, or deliver new clutch cable, probably home.

Sat under a tree not working!

I'm sure that now I could probably limp to work without a clutch but at kicking out time the traffic is standstill almost all the way home and when filtering I like the option of slipping the clutch because 1st is too low and second is too high, I need a 1.5.

It would be a real pita in traffic, nowhere you can ride to, to buy a cable?

No that I can think of. Kawasaki dealers is in birstall quite a way and don't think I've seen a fixing department there.

I've wemoto'd a new cable so I can fit it before my MOT gets done.

You can do it, it's simple, just put the new cable in alongside the old one and swap them over, just copy where it fits. Save yourself a few pennies and have the satisfaction that you did it yourself.

I don't doubt I could do it but that idea of following the old cable is one I WILL follow

Chalky, damn straight! I'm home now so gonna jump on it, it'll start on the first kick I reckon after not being touched for 2 or 3 weeks.

'Tis the season. Such a silly little thing to cripple a bike, just a few strands of wire. Sad

Enjoy your wait, tell him to bring you some fresh tampons.

I will get one of those, cheers Stinkwheel.

Roger, I always imagine a tube system so they can stand at the toilet like a fella but let out the red stream. Would the system need bleeding before and after? Sick

Should have ordered 2 cables, as Marm said, cable tie the spare onto the fitted one.

Then if one snaps on you, change the ends over

Might do just that! I'll parafilm around the ends to try keep water out of the spare too.

I'd suggest sealing the parafilm with corning silicone as wrapped parafilm can often leak.

Me too. Plus a puncture repair kit. Thumbs Up

OP: If you buy one then stick some tape around the lid before you stash it- they aren't that tight a fit.

It's just a pub up towards Harrogate, a good stop off point before blasting round the roads up that way. Less busy and less po po than Squires. (Still present, mind).

Of course if you stick to the speed limits (like we all do) that's not a worry.
