...but it's available, apparently...

EntroSys BikeAir motorcycle A/C system.

https://images.gizmag.com/inline/entrosys-motorcycle-airconditioner-2.jpg

The maker's EntroSys site.

I can see a market in the USA and Australia, where let's face it, it's warmer/sunnier than here.

One of the strangest accessories I've seen for a bike Thumbs Up

Apology if a repost, didn't find when I had a quick look.

I have been semi-seriously planning to fit a watercooling system with peltier elements and/or ice packs to my jacket and trousers for a while.

I'll bet the price alone makes your blood run cold.

In the USA price is $1500 (ballpark nearly £900) plus shipping and handling, plus 6.5% tax if you live in Florida.

I await BCF's DIY alternative Very Happy

I think this marks the point where you might as well just get a car...

You'd have to admit there are times you would use it.

Or just ride fast enough to get the same effect Thumbs Up

Literally, the only use I could see for this is if you're planning to sit in traffic, and you might as well get a car then anyway.

Bet that rapes the battery. Doesn't use refrigerant so I'm assuming it uses the same technology that those small portable fridges use. Forgot what its called but they take hours to get cold

Peltier elements.

They actually get cold very quickly, issue is the peltier elements in the little fridges are tiny and they are expected to cool 4 kg of fluid in a badly insulated plastic box.

TBF, I'd settle for a system that cooled just my gonads.

I'd probably go for ice packs over peltier elements, mainly because I only really get very hot on my commute and I have -80C freezers at work.

Wouldn't a well designed, well vented jacket work just as well, presuming you're not sat in traffic for long periods? Also, it'd be far better if it worked with your trousers too, as I find my legs tend to get far sweatier than my torso and arms.

One other thing. If you have an off, is it likely to keep you and your bike attached, therefore creating more chance of injury?

If anybody remembers back to the 1960s they had retrofittable air conditioners on cars. They were a long tube which sprayed a mist over several layers of thin mesh like tights. The water absorbed some of the heat which entered the car and cooled it down.

It had a battery operated fan on the front incase you were not moving.

This is a picture of one, add in a radiator fan or two so it works when you aren't moving and you could probably fit one on the opposite side of your exhaust so it looks like a 2nd exhaust.

TANSTAAFL though, and it would create drag and eat your MPG.

Remind's me a bit of Hward Hugh's car, fitted with an aircraft-grade air ventilation system to get rid of them pesky germs he despised so much

When air is warmer than blood temperature, you want less ventilation, not more. The air will physically heat you up.

I don't think it gets hot enough in this country to warrant the tech. But in the Middle East, Africa, central Spain, middle of Australia, etc...

They were evaporative coolers, google "swamp cooler".

Evaporating water requires a lot of energy, this is taken from the hot air so you get cooler, albeit very humid air.

Still a popular alternative to modern A/C in very dry hot countries, although the risk of Legionella can be quite high.

Also... I think my nuts are humid enough tbh Laughing .

Would it not just be easier in using what underwater welders have to keep them warm and just changing from hot water to cold water?.

Very simple solution.
Wear shorts, a vest and sandles.

I've yet to see any in use out here, although just how useful it'd be stuffed up inside a 'wifebeater' is debatable!!!
