Evening all,

Through circumstances that were almost entirely my own fault my divvy went down on it's left hand side, again, the other morning.

The drop bent the gear lever fairly out of shape, I managed to straighten it up enough to get to work, and have since straightened it up properly so it is visually as good as new.

My gears still feel very stiff to change though, going both up and down the gears, between all the gears.

If I try to change below 1 or above 5 the lever moves very freely so I figure that means the stiffness is being caused by something inside the gearbox itself, or maybe the selector fork?

Any suggestions as to what it may be?

Can you whip off the clutch cover and get to the shift drum? I did exactly this on the TZR; turns out that the gear lever had got bent and the detent spring and arm had been knocked out of alignment.

With hindsight I might have been able to fix the box without even taking the engine out of the frame.

Can certainly whip off the cover, no idea where I'm going after that, though I have a Haynes and a Yamaha manual here so I can follow the directions.

Worth a look I suppose!
