Okay so my WR125R is a 4 stroke, liquid cooled, 6 speed, Fuel injected 4 valve, not very fast and never will be!

but, if theres one thing i would like to change it is the UGLY/HEAVY standard exhaust, and silencer so it doesnt sound like a sewing machine.

Silencer, i know it wont make much difference at all probably make it slower due to loss in backpressure not sure though.

but the front pipe, seems to be all bendy wendy and has a Cat in it, but no O2 sensors, removal of the cat therefore wouldnt really effect the FI, would a less bendy slightly larger bore Decat pipe make any difference?

Surely it would make a slight difference, more free flowing?
i know this is usually good for cars if its done correctly.

I can get an Arrow Front pipe, De-cat, Stainless steel for £113 Locally.

The first picture is the standard front pipe which bends around the frame down and back up, not very free flowing!

Second picture is the Arrow Front pipe, much better design, no cat, much more free flowing, will it make a minimal difference?

Not too expensive, anyone know if this would make a difference?

Thanks!

Thumbs Up

There's dyno charts from Leo Vinci showing that on the YZF125R (same engine as yours), a full de-cat system and straight through silencer without the db killer, makes just about 1bhp more than standard. That seems quite reasonable to me, but as you said your unlikey to notice any performance difference, just more noise, and possibly better looks/corrosion resistance?
