In an investigation begun by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and taken forward by the FCA, Wonga was found to have sent letters to customers in arrears from non-existent law firms, threatening legal action. In some instances, Wonga also added charges to customers’ accounts to cover the administration fees associated with sending the letters.

it's worrying that it has taken so long for something to be done. When from their first adverts it was obvious they was scum.

Never used anything like this and never will, but judging by the extremely high interest rates etc they are all the same, would like to know the people who operate these firms that enjoy making the lives of people who cannot get a decent loan or just genuinely cannot afford anything a misery, bet there would be a name that can be familiar to anyone.
