Hi

The adverts are now out for the MCN Spring event at Skegness (at Butlins).

It is the 15th to the 18th of April.

Prices are down as self catering £72 (standard) / £87 (silver) / £102 (gold), or half board at £107 (standard room) / £112 (standard apartment) / £117 (silver room) / £127 (silver apartment) / £137 (gold apartment), all per person.

Booking number is 0870 242 0870, or online at https://www.motorcyclenews.com/mcnevents .

Normally this includes a small amount of track time at Cadwell (which is not that far away).

Anyone else fancy going?

All the best

Keith

I'm going with my mate, my dads cousin, a few of his mates and maybe my dad. Should be a laugh.

Might do this again. Did the last one in October and Jeanette might be there anyway if she gets in the MCN Squad.

Hi

Done the last 3 spring ones. Last year McJamweasal came along as well.

Nice entertaining weekend.

Mind you, Charlottes parents had borrowed a caravan in one of the next door sites that weekend, without realising the MCN event was on. They thought it was a touch noisy Laughing .

All the best

Keith, how much is it if you're sorting your own accommodation? I may know someone with a static caravan going fairly cheap for a few days.

Hi

They do day passes but I am not sure how much these are, and I am not sure how late you can stay on site with them (think you have to be out before the evenings really get going).

All the best

Hi

Track time for you then?

Think last time we had a Silver apartment. However I think if you have a 3 bedroom apartment then you have to go self catering. Be tempted to try and book some 2 room ones. The food is not great but it does the job and saves cooking.

If you want we can book as a group and we should land up with adjoining apartments.

The basic accomodation is just that.

All the best

Keith

Sounds like a good idea........I can cook super noodles Razz Thumbs Up

Well I'm no stranger to camping and I've done Egypt B&Bs.......I'm sure the basic accomodation at Butlins will still seem like luxury. Laughing

I'm up for cheap and cheerful - basic accomodation sounds fine (well I did live in a wooden hut for 6 months in America, I'm sure I'll cope!) and I'm sure I'll live for a weekend on Helen's super noodles.

I might just book the Friday off work, not looked if it's possible to just go for 2 nights but that would be ideal (need to save holidays so I can go on more of these types of trips this year!!)

Don't think I'll be going on my bike though.

Looking forward to it already! Cool

Hi

A mud hut in the Amazon jungle would look like luxury compared to the basic accomodation Laughing .

Food on site is not cheap (ask Col about the cost of the pizza), and the (school dinner like) central catering is easy.

If you can try and go from Friday to Monday. We came back on the Sunday the first 2 years but that means you miss one evenings bands, etc. If you are short of time just take Friday afternoon off, and possibly just Monday morning.

All the best

Keith

Works out a bit cheaper if you buy some food from the shop and make your own. We could only be bothered getting tea bags, milk and Frosties though. The pizza restaurant was okay but exceedingly over priced.

In October, a lot of people left early on Sunday which kind of put a dampner on things because in a way it felt like it had finished, even though we stayed until Monday morning. Having said that, there were still a lot of people out for the evening entertainment (just not so many people doing wheelies and burnouts at 2am Laughing ).

The price is fixed for the weekend so you can go on sunday but you still pay the same.

I had Friday PM and Monday AM off last year to the 3 days. Nothing happend till the evening Friday anyway and you have to leave by 10:00 on Monday anyway

bye

Well I've actually booked the Friday and the Monday off already, but I'm hoping I can change that to save my hols, but they are flexible at work. If I decide to work half days then I can.

We'll have to look into booking it soon then!? Very Happy

I think I'll get that done tomorrow as well considering how long it takes my HR department to authorise days off. Confused Laughing

Mike and Shaun love each other, everyone knows that. We all also know that they are both loaded...

Maybe one day Shaun will be able to repay Helen all the money he owes her Wink

I'm a possible... It's a freakishly scary time for me, right at the end of my degree, so I'll either be panicking because my dissertation is nowhere near completion, or relaxing with everything done and dusted.

Confused
