Hello all! Thought Id pop in and introduce meself.

I rode a CG125 for a year a few years ago, then due to needing something that could go on motorways for work and not being able to afford my big boys licence I went back to having a car and regretted it every day since! Finally got round to getting a bike again, got a lovely little YBR125.

Ive only had it 4 days and its already tried to kill me once! All four retaining bolts on the sprocket popped out and locked the back wheel up, thankfully it happened at some red lights just before joining a dual carriageway sliproad, 30 seconds later and Id have been going flat out into two lanes of heavy traffic! Its been a good bonding experience with it though! It might not be the fastest bike in the world but its an absolute pleasure to drive Very Happy

I do have a question for any of the more experienced YBR owners, how do I tell if mine is an injection or carb model? It was sold to me as an injection model, but it has a fuel tap and choke - and from what Ive read from google if its got a fuel tap its a carb model, but mine is a 2008 plate and I was told they stopped making carb YBRs in '07? Unless Ive got one of the very late carbed ones? Either way Im not particularly fussed, it would just be nice to know for sure one way or the other! And apparently the carb version has a whole extra 3bhp over the injection model? (every little counts in a diddy bike like this! Laughing )

Yay for fork gaiters. All bikes should have them.

Manual choke = carb. A "2008" bike is very likely to be a 2007 model.

I thought as much, as I said not really fussed - but it doesnt exactly instill me with confidence in the chap I bought it off if he couldnt tell it was a carb version and he did most of the work putting the thing together Shocked

Not quite sure what the fork gaiters are for but they were already on and it looks good to me Razz

Probably covering up the corroded forks, they're know for it.

Still, out of sight, out of MOT scope. Whistle
