Hi everyone. Having trouble with my stearing on nsr 125. When in a 'straight ahead' position its fine but if i try to turn the bars(either way) there is a lot of resistance, then it suddenly goes and i've nearly lost the front end a few times.
Am i right in thinking it will be the stearing bearings that have become damaged? If so what d i need to do? If not what else could it be?
Please help!
Thanks folks. Crying or Very sad

Totall,

Try this test to see if the steering beerings are shot. With the front brake on push back and forward to see if you can feel any 'gaps'. You'll know what I mean if there are any. Also, accelerate and decelerate in quick succession in search of the same thing. Basically the handlebars with wobble back and forth.

However, if that does not happen, it doesn't mean your bearings aren't shot. If that makes sense.

Best,

Luke

thanks luke

I just ran out of work to try this and i cannot feel 'gaps' as you describe.
Am i right in thinking you are suggesting that it could be an issue with the forks?
The best way for me to describe it is when you try to turn the bars it feels like someone is pushing back against them. Its a real fight to push to full lock.

Have you checked to see if the bars or fork assemblies are fouling on anything as you turn the bars ??

It sounds like very low front tyre pressure.

Steering bearings are more likely to give a 'notchy' feeling to it and you should notice a 'click' under heavy braking.
