Well, after 2 years of trying to find a decent second hand shock for my hornet, I came across this. It needs a rebuild, but with that only costing about £95 by Hagon themselves, it seemed a good deal to me, especially at the very low price I ended up getting it for, felt kinda bad for the seller. Laughing

Pretty sure I got a bit of a bargain, and can now get rid of the 36,000 mile, 15 year old standard piece of shit. Next on the list is Hagon progressive springs up front.

Brool sclry blow.

You outbid me on that - I missed the end of the auction.

Great buy. Re: front springs, have you considered a full front end swap? There's some tasty conversions on the hornets nest.

If you hadn't of bid on it I would have got it for £17. Wink

I have considered it, I looked at getting an upside down front end from the later hornet, but from what I've read, the upside down hornet forks are no better than mine, but are upside down purely for aesthetics. Maybe a CBR front end if I see one that takes ny fancy.

The reason I said that is that I think progressive springs are rubbish. Hated the progressive rear stock shock in my Daytona, total ballache to set up.

I did the whole suspension thing on my Hornet over winter this year. I asked about on the Hornets nest and got a few great suggestions.

I bought a second hand Ohlins shock for my bike and had it serviced It came back like new and made such a difference to the ride quality.

In the forks, I took out the old Springs and Spacers and replaced it with a kit from Matris (Bought through PDQ in the UK). It's linear rather than progressive and firmed everything up nicely. Well worth the money.
