...I managed to drop it. With the wife on the back. Not a clue what happened, approaching a road end, turning right, suddenly we're on the floor. Only thing I can think is that there was a serious adverse camber. Clueless otherwise. Damage is scratches on the LH fairing and a bent clutch lever. Me and the missus are ok, just bruises and scuffed leathers. At least it's one more experience we've shared. And we were having such a lovely ride before that.

One thing that made me feel better was the fact that we both got the bike picked up and were off again within a couple of minutes. The clutch lever was a PITA, but we had a good thrash down the A1 and I felt ok. Not ok that I damaged the missus but she thought it was hilarious, despite the money it's gonna cost to fix and the limp she's now got.

Hey ho. Sad

That's an awfully rude thing to say about his wife.

It's one of my main fears, dropping the bike with the mrs on. I'd hate to hurt her although she's a more experienced pillion than I am rider as her dad and brother both have bikes and have for some years.

Thing is she knows the risks and chooses to take them, like we all do.

Glad there's not too much damage to people or bike tho. Probably better at a slow speed than on the A1 at 70mph!

She must've forgiven me, as she's given me a proper fettling this morning. Despite the bruises, she seems to think it was hilarious.

Off to watch the TdF. Probably fall off my bicycle today too. Embarassed

I did mention that they are top heavy and when they go, they go.

I ended up pinned under mine at a T junction I had to wait there till a car camera by and the drive got it off my leg. Fortunately It landed on my boot and leg so there was no damage to bike or rider. Just a bruised ego Embarassed

Use your track standing skills but on your motorcycle and only use the rear brake. 3 controls dude. Cool

Oh, and remind pillion to not move when going walking pace.
Had my 14st mate on the back last week and had to pull over to remind him not to fidget about when we're going slow.

heres something, sometime you will just drop a bike. for some unknown reason it happens.

I remember talking to one bloke after he watched him fall off at the traffic light, he had no clue why he fell off, what he didnt realise is that he did put his foot/feet down.

yeh shi*t happens, that part of life
