Was one of his first sessions (first trackday) told him and towards the end of the day he gained loads by hanging off more! Start of the day he was taking Gerard's at 90mph end 115-120mph still he was one of the quickest in the novice group and most had been before with full track bikes and tyres lol I run in the inters and there was at least half the group he would of been quicker than

It's surprising the number of novice group track dayers who're one of the quickest in the group. Wink

Only mildly related, Illusory Superiority.

They did a study where something like 90% of drivers rated themselves as above average Laughing

IMO there is every need to hang off on the road, most corners I take I am hanging off, not for knee down, but simply to take the corner better/smoother. It feels so alien if I don't do it.

Smoother jumping from side to side rather than letting the bike do the work? Well I disagree road riding handing is a last resort! Tracks are smooth if u hit a big bump when hanging off(no weight on the bike) that's high/low side (if pushing hard of course)

No weight on the bike? Your weight is always on the bike, unless you run alongside it Laughing Laughing

Each to their own of course, but it has worked for me, and(touch wood) I have never high or low sided due to hanging off!

How much track experience do you have?

How does hanging off mean there's no weight on the bike?

Yeah, plus its beneficial in the wet, as it keeps the bike more upright for a given cornering speed.
