Chap's asking a lot of money for what was sold as a budget bike.

2007 R1200GS for the same money, just for example.

Cheers guys,

Reviews tell me that fuel economy should be anything between high 30's to mid 40's mpg, but I guess it is down to riding style and use.

Is a bit high for my pocket, hence the half an eye on it, but will see where the auction goes.

As for the BMW recommendation, tested one of these last year and found the riding position not for me, too little leg room to be comfortable.

Thanks anyhoo, will see how it goes and let you know

I had a 650 V-Strom for 6 years - good bikes. There was one guy in the US who has done over 350,000 miles on his and still going Shocked

Not sure about prices but that does seem a little over-priced - you can get a new-shape 650 V-Strom for that amount. They have better economy - I averaged 58mpg on my old-shape model (pre-2010) and the new one is supposed to be better and you're unlikely to miss the extra horsepower of the 1000 - look at this example:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-DL-650-AL2-V-STROM-STUNNER-/201123935801?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item2ed3ebb639

Also, very low mileage for a 6 year old bike on that one you're looking at - I would prefer something that's been used a bit more and hasn't been left to rust.

Tigers tend to be. I couldn't find one in budget, which is how I ended up as a Helmut head.

By a TDM900, better brakes, better suspension, better MPG less likely to rot.

Are they really 63bhp? That doesn't seem right.

Cheers for the input, opinions and options.

Did think it was a little pricey at the top end, but the bike is a minter (seen it) and it does have a fair bit of bling to go with it, so with the mileage, might still keep that half an eye to see how it goes.

Then again, just seen an offer on a new GSX1250F, £7k with some bits bolted on, so might just see if I can fill another pot of £1 coins and go for that instead Very Happy

Thanks again, appreciate the hive response Smile

Mike
