What kind of mileage could be reasonably expected from a 1250 bandit before it becomes a piece of shit. Mine has done about 40,000 miles and it seems to be tidy at the moment, but I cant imagine its got a lot left. I have heard of some bikes going 100,000+, but they are high quality hondas usually.

40K isn't high mileage,

My Honda Varadero 125 has done over 60K and is still singing.

Is it singing "Please release me, let me go" by any chance?

the most important aspect of any given millage ;high or low; is the mechanical sympathy of the operator ..

I'd expect the engine and gearbox to last pretty much forever. I got rid of mine because the rest of it was shit - even by the standards of previous bandits.

It depends, mileage is the least of concerns, it depends how it has been ridden, kept and serviced.

e.g. Nigella is 54

I can't imagine getting to work on time if I had that to ride down the A20 no matter how hard I thrashed her
