So they say. I took a corner too fast and hit a car. Clavicle is busted and gash in my knee which is now infected! Sad

A+E doc said no surgery but he could hardly speak English. 10-12 weeks to heal. I asked for a second opinion and am seeing the senior orthopedic consultant surgeon today who just happens to be a personal friend Cool

i broke my collar bone on my pedal bike years ago too (I t-boned a car), hurt like a mofo, as you don't realise how much you move your collar bone to basically do anything

your knee should scar up a treat, remember chicks dig scars

funnily enough the car shot off like a scaulded cat...me thinks wasnt insured etc

but yeah im insured through both my house insurance policy an through my BC membership

I draw the line on road users requiring 3rd party insurance.

Admittedly, my post was tongue in cheek, as most serious cyclists I know have 3rd party insurance. The idiots tend not to.

So a pedestrian using the road should have insurance?

What about a small kid playing on their push bike in a quiet cul de sac?

It's a very slippery slope...

But that is just being silly.

The start of the slope is forcing cars to have it too. Maybe we should just remove any form of compulsory 3rd party insurance?

Had a plate put in yesterday. Clavicle was in 5 pieces Shocked . The end parts are fixed with the smaller bits left in the gap. This means 4 weeks in a sling full time so no work or road riding. Summer of fun! Sad

Last time I was on a bicycle it was 5-6 years ago and I somehow managed to make a hole in my right leg with the front sprocket. It was as big as child's fist and I could see some blue and white stuff in there, needed many stitches, 3 months of no walking, the leg was quite rotting. Normally, I don't get scared or anything, but that time I thought I'm gonna lose the leg. It's motorcycles only from that moment on and I have never had any injury related to motorcycles. Cool

I was close to fatal crash quite many times, learned from that alot. Tomorrow, I'm gonna do 600 miles run (1000km), to celebrate my birthday, so I hope you won't be right this soon. Laughing
