After doing some searching in forums we're shortlisted Akrapovic road legal, Wolf Racing road legal or Yoshimura road legal as aftermarket exhausts we'd like.

If anyone has one of these on their 600/750, could you give me your opinion...

Thanks very much

I intend buying a new GSX-R600 (any best deals somewhere ?) and would like to have a great sounding howler sound for it (legal or not) exhaust. Please can you suggest among those you listed.

The micron shown above unfortunatly doesn't howl.

It does on the other hand sound like the Thor, God of Thunder... Gargling with nails!

Funny you should say that. I've driven a K4 GSXR 600 fitted with the road legal Micron and it did sound nice, better than the standard exhaust for sure...plus it also looks better than the stock too.

So we may consider it yet!

Cheers.

Go for the Akrapovic or the Yoshimura. You will not go wrong with the Akrapovic can, my mate has one on a K4 600 and I have one on my R6. They are brilliant cans and have never heard a bad word said about them. The Yoshimura on the other hand should be fine, they are suppossed to be quality items and if you are a 'British Superbike' kind of fan you may appreciate the Suzuki/Yoshimura link.

Akrapovic is the only way to go, to steal Stellas tag line .." reassuringly expensive". Got one on mine and it sounds amazing (I know thats what all people say about their cans lol).

(Ignore that little not for road use bit hehe)

We're looking at the road legal exhausts with the removeable baffle...

According to PDQ, the Ackrapovic would be the better choice.

The Akrapovic seems to be about £360 for a carbon road legal.
The Yoshi is about £380 for the stainless road legal Rolling Eyes though it would be louder than the povic.

And here is why I got my custom title: (nothing to do with GSXRs though)
Akrapovic have won the Rider Power Survey for the last 2 years at least.

Ive got before and after dyno graph of my 2000 Gsxr pictured above. Before it was 92.5bhp and after it was 96bhp, partly due to he new exhaust and partly down do it getting set up right.

In my opinion theres probably not much between most Slipon/Bolton endcans performance wise. It certainly doesnt warrent the extra £200 for a Akrapovic over a Scorp for me, anyway.

It's all down to what you prefer sound and looks wise.

Is "not for road use" stamped on the plate round the side ONLY on that can Hustler? Anyone know why some manufacturers decide to STAMP it on the back, and in biggish letters, rather than a nice indescreet stamp like yours. I got tailed by the trafic police yesterday and was literally bricking it. I was sure they could read the writing from their car. Or at least some writing, which they probably knew wouldnt be legal.

If you are bothered about the 'not for road use' stamp then polish it out with a mirror finish polish kit.

Well I have a Scorpion can on my Gixxer. It came with the bike but I don't think they are that expensive. Makes lots of noise though. Personally I'm not too bothered if one exhaust gives you 2 bhp increase and the other 4. Depends what you want it for I suppose.

Picked up a road legal (so its got the stamps) Yoshimura tri oval can with removable baffle. I must admit it sounds pretty decent with the baffle left in!

Apparently if removed it's a full breathing race can.

It also looks a lot nicer than the standard end can.

I'm going for an akra baffled can for the thou this year, just looking at them in the shop - they're top quality, very light and sound good too. I did fancy a remus but after holding one they're nowhere neear the quality of the akra, and not much cheaper.

BUT WHEN HAVE YOSHI STARTED DOING ROAD LEGAL CANS?? I DEMAND LINKS!

Here you go, this is the one...

https://195.224.59.217/bikebuys/showcase/product/product_detail.asp?prodid=233

"This new design from Yoshimura has a twist; thanks to an easily removable baffle the ‘E’ marked and fully road-silenced can doubles as a full-specification and free-breathing Yoshimura race can."

Pay no attention to the RRP though, you can get it for a lot less.

Thanks for the link mate! But f*ck me they're expensive! Don't fancy the shiny s/s one, brushed titanium yes please! Hope you're right about them being cheaper elsewhere, always wanted a yosh.
Arrow do nice cans too, got a medium-high level one on the cbr and looks and sounds very nice with baffles in or out. Circlip baffle is nice touch too - very easy to remove.
