Hi everyone, I need help identifying this part that came off my 1983 Honda CBX 550F that I bought a few months ago.

I did a "frame-off" restoration and ended up with a washer or spacer that says "OUT SIDE" on it. I have only half a shop manual and cannot figure out where this washer/spacer is supposed to go.

THe approximate measurements are as follows:

THickness: 4.5mm
Diam (outside): 32.7mm
Diam (inside): 14mm

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Reminds me of a clutch retaining nut washer, though the inside diametre looks quite small for what I presume would be a substantial clutch system for the size of the engine.

I agree the only washer I have seen stamped like that is the thrust washer off a Honda clutch I think they,re called bendix washers

I didn't take the clutch or engine apart so it rules out the clutch.

The swingarm is definitely a possibility. I cleaned all the nuts, bolts and washers, so it most likely was not this clean when I took it off the bike. I kept everything together so I am pretty confident it's from the Honda.

I'll check the swingarm and give an update! Very Happy

The top part of the washer/spacer that is marked "outside" is slightly convex, and the bottom is slightly concave. When I re-assembled the bike I tried to fit the part just about everywhere I thought it would be used. I tried it on the front fork axle, front sprocket, rear swingarm front and back end and no joy. The engine wasn't opened either so it's not from the clutch. Judging by the thickness and shape of the washer it seems to be an important part. Thanks for all the input, hopefully someone will have an answer, meanwhile I will keep looking.
