rotor nut

ive just recently bought a new engine for my nsr and the nut at the generator end of the crank is loose does any one know how to tighten it with out a air gun , locking the transmission or the correct tool or using a pole through the con rod

Took me a while to work this out on my cagiva, but i think its the best bodge method!

Bolt a bar loosely to the flywheel, put a socket onto the nut and tighten. The socket will jam agaist the bar and the bar will jam against the floor. You might need to reverse the set up that is shown in the pic, as that was for removal.
