I've just bought a bike which was first registered 23/08/2011 so just less than 3 years. Can I get it MOT'd tomorrow or this week or is it too early? I'm going away so I want to get it done before then. Cheers.

Too early, I do recall that I'm advised to MOT my bikes near as possible to the due date. I think an MOT station will do it but they might tell you it's too early but don't quote me on that.. Mr. Green

Can get it MOT'd now, I'd do it rather than holding out till it does really expire.

You can do it 30 days before its due to to expire and the time will be added on. So nows good.

Yeah you can MOT it a full month before it is due to expire and it will keep the same expiry date, and thus MOT will last (up to) 13 months.

You can of course get it MOT'd earlier than that, but you will end up with a 12 month MOT from the day you get it tested.

Sometimes this is the best option, for example if you are going away, or you are selling a bike/car and want to advertise a full 12 month MOT to hope it is more desirable than the others for sale.
