Smart water.

My Varadero has been treated with smart water by the previous owner I declared this as part of my insurance with H&R sent all required documents back but they're insistent on the smart water certificate.

At the time I didn't realise one needed a certificate registered in ones name I have explained this to H&R and requested three weeks for me to sort it out with smart water which was accepted notes have been added to my account.

I telephoned smart water this morning to inquire about transfering my details and getting the certificate with my name on it he that said I needed return the re registration form which was emailed to me along with my V5 and take out an annual membership at the cost of £23.88.

Will it be cheaper to take the smart water annual subscription rather than changing the policy and becoming subject to admin fees?

Just say you cannot provide proof, get them to remove it from your policy and pay the additional premium. I never declare smart water.

Same with my lad's Varadero with smartwater sticker.
I enquired about transfer too and was gobsmacked by the annual fee.

I worked out cheaper to buy datatag as a one off fee (and one off charge for transfer) and use that for the sake of insurance and a sticker.

Smartwater imho is a ripoff. Ok for first time buyer from new, stupid money for 2nd hand buyers.

I'd run a quote to see if it makes any difference to your policy. If it takes off £50, then it's obviously worth paying for.

If they do charge you admin fees though, it'll be £30 minimum.
