My MOT for the Fazer is up soon, the front disks are pretty worn and need replacing. I've also noticed that at low speed with light braking I can feel the front end sort of bouncing on the suspension, as if the brakes are grabbing and letting go. So I'm assuming slightly warped disks.

I'm going to see a doner bike tomorrow, is there any way I can check the run-out without a gauge? Guessing it'd just be to roll the wheel when off the ground to see if it only rubs in 1 spot? Is there a more accurate way?

Gauge or tap and a toothpick will help your judgement. Thumbs Up
Tape the toothpick to the fork leg and spin the wheel that's the best you can do.

A cheaper/easier way is to take along a black white board marker pen. Draw a wavey mark around the swept area of each disc and roll the bike forwards a full rotation of the wheel. If any part of the wavey line is not removed,it shows the disc is warped.
