Speedo repair/replace 1986 Kawasaki ZX400

Hello all,

As suggested by the title, I am looking to repair or replace the speedo of a 1986 ZX400. The issue is this; at pretty much any road speed, the speedo grinds and growls with a lot of vibration. Having inspected the speedo itself it seems that part of the mechanism has developed clearance and is jumping up and coming into contact with part of the construction. In the photo I am referring to the lower silver disk.

I am browsing the web and whatnot but wanted to gather advice/info anyone might have. Ideally I would like to keep the bike original, but as there are so few on the road that seems unlikely.
