Neutral Sorry to hear about the attempted theft buddy. And also welcome to the forum!

As unity said it sounds like the the primary connection in the ignition itself. It could be that when they cut the wires, they pulled out a couple of wires from inside the barrel.

Best of luck with getting it fixed! If youre in the midlands I can recommend a couple of great shops that wouldnt cost the earth.

Here's the wiring diagram:

https://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss182/hmmmnz1/Honda/cbr125r.jpg

I don't know exactly how the black (assuming common neutral) is routed, but it makes sense for the front lights and the horn at least to be close to the ignition, so that'd be my first guess.

I had a problem with mine where it wouldn't start and it turned out it was because the fuel sender wire wasn't connected. I don't know if that had an effect anywhere else in the loom, but it's the only change I made and it fired right up afterwards...

Brake light switch is sticking. First clean the pivots for the lever, clean and lightly oil the return spring and also a bit of oil on the brake switch wont hurt either.

Arnold's in Loughborough are my local shop if ever you need anything done. Can't recommend them enough, ace service and there is free tea and coffee Wink

As far as your brake light goes, is it at full illumination? Or on but dim?

its not that long to hook it around the leaver the only thing it can hook onto is the big string next to it but that way it turns off when i use the pedal Razz

just double checked mine and yes sorry it it supposed to hook around the bottom coil on the fatter spring.

It is only supposed to light up when you press down on the lever. If it turning of altogether your bulbs have probably blown

i have tested the back light and it works with the front brake and back brake when i use the switch`s but i am having problems getting the back brake leaver to work the switch right .... if i put the spring onto the bottom of the coil when i use the back brake the light goes off not on because it pulls the spring down its driving me up the wall Razz

i bet its something simple but

just to check the back brake switch makes the light brake come on when u pull it ?

Maybe it is adjusted too far? If you look were the switch actually mounts there is a circular ring that screws up and down on the switch letting the switch drop down or raise up.....

Screw it all the way to the top of the switch so the switch moves closer to the rear brake lever and try that. You will probably end up with no light at all if the switch still works, then you will have to steadily raise it until the light comes on with the lever depressed.

sorry i think i have mislead you like i said before i am not a bike man

with out the spring attached to anything if i pull the spring then the light is off

i think u might be thinking i was on about the leaver ?

so with out the spring attached to anything other then the switch it self and u just pull on the spring is the light supposed to be on or off ?

because at the moment its off when i pull it

again thanks for the help i have no clue about things like this trying to save some money and learn at the same time Razz

the light is supposed to be OFF when the spring is detached. You may have pulled it a bit far and got it stuck.

Push the plunger ( that spring is attached to) on the switch right up and see if light goes of. Try with a reasonable amount of force if it doesn't work first time.

Don't try and crush it back up or use pliers etc you will probably break it altogether.

It works like this:
the brake lever is pressed down,

the return spring is stretched ( fat spring that pulls lever back up )

which moves the bottom coil further from the switch

so in turn pulls the lighter spring and then the plunger on light switch comes down and turns on your brake lights.

if the plunger on the brake switch has gone too far it may not be returning properly so give it a good shove back in towards the switch and try that.

If it goes off but comes back on when you attach the spring then the switch position needs adjusting ( this is what I put in my post above ^^)
