Hey guys,

Sorry, summer holidays mean I am not able to be here too often (Work allows me to browse and post)

Looking at a TMEC Enduro 125 (2012 plate) as my lad's first step to proper bikes.

Any thoughts or advice on these chinese bikes?

Apparently they are based upon Honda SM bikes and not too bad from what I have read on T'Interweb, but you guys seem to have had most things at one time or another.

Basically, 2012 bike, 600 miles, £700.

Cheers

Mike

I think you should look for a TM125 (the expensive blue Italian sexy machines) not a nasty copy of a Honda XR125! Wink

TMEC troubles.

A typical owner and the consequences.

cmpo.co.uk don't list parts for it.

Scrap value.

On the other hand, proper XR125s are decent little learner bikes, basically a CG125 but not so fugly.

One of those or a YBR should be ideal, just avoid Chink bikes.

I'm not too keen on the XR125, they look a bit too 'my first dirtbike' like a kids toy with the small wheel sizes and spindly forks.

The Honda XLR125 is the bike I'd go for, a proper off road style chassis and suspension with the OHC bullet proof Honda air cooled single inside it.
