Hey guys,

Since I've replaced my car with a CBR I've not yet struggled with directions Laughing However, this coing weekend I am going to see my parents (about 200 miles away) and I have no idea on the route. Ive still got L plates so my usual route is a no-no. Does anyone use any form of sat nav on their bike, and if so, how? Neutral

Hopefully I wont be too sore this weekend! Laughing

Cheers!

For a while I used one of these for my car Garmin - cheap and cheerful:

Along with one of these tucked under my seat - again cheap n cheerful:

I've now bought a Garmin sized ball adapter to mount my Garmin in its original car cradle inside the fairing, and installed one of these on the bars:

If it rains heavy I pop it in my tank bag pocket. You can set it to avoid motorways, so its L plate friendly.

That first link with the sat nav holder. I bought one and its cheap and cheerful. They sent mine with the wrong bar mount as you cant clamp the holder to the mount. I am awaiting an answer from them but like mentioned. Just use the map holder on your tank bag and if you don't have one you can get a magnetic map holder for a couple of quid. Good thing about a tank bag one is it sits closer to your face so you spend a second or two less peering/focusing on the screen. Well I do anyway.

I made the mistake of getting one of those sat/ nav waterproof bar mounted holders what a waste of 20 quid had to cut the screen out it as it kept touching the face screen and sending the unit loopy bin job not worth the money

Nope I was wrong. Got a nice e mail from them to explain how you connect. You need a bit of force but it connects. Still cheap and cheerful though. Smile
