My boyfriend borrowed my motorbike to get to work today and has returned home with a great big nail in the rear tyre Sad

Does anyone know of any decent mobile tyre fitters that cover Liverpool? Google brought up etyres but they only mention motorbikes in passing so I don't know if they're reliable.

I need someone to come to my garage and change the tyre as the bike isn't ride able, and we have no other transport to take the rear wheel somewhere to have a new tyre fitted.

I'd be very appreciative of any advice.

Where abouts are you?

P&R Tyres off Jamaica street have always been my choice, they've been doing bike tyres/racing for decades. I'd just take a taxi if you're OK to remove a wheel.

Cheers, I'll look into them, the problem I have is there's no centre stand on the bike and we don't have any sort of stand or even spare bricks to stand bike up on, so we'd struggle to get the rear wheel off and leave the bike standing.

Get yourself a stand. They are a must.

But what I did when I had a puncture was to pump my tyre up and ride to the tyre place. Surely you have a pump? If not go to Wilkos or Halfords on the bus and buy one.

Do not take the nail out! Good luck.

My idiot boyfriend took the nail out as soon as I pointed it out much to my complaint. It was such a big nail it left a visible hole. No chance of plugging it and pumping it back up.

I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a stand so I can get the wheel off.

Put bike on sidestand.

Get boyfriend to pull bike on the side stand so it tilts on it.

Shave a piece of wood underneath the footpeg/swingarm.

Remove wheel.

As silly as it sounds I have heard of people screwing a big self tapper into the hole and pumping it up to get them home.
