 |
|
Hello folks, not been in here for a while, been a bit tied up. Anyhow, I managed to get my sh1t together and got a zzr600 from a dealer.
It's a K reg and has done under 20k miles with a service history, old mots and stuff, also has a datatool system3 alarm, and I'm well chuffed with it.
I've not been too far on it so far, mostly because of the horrible weather and I've found the roads very slippy.
Right, the question, it has'nt got a fuel gauge, but has two big red warning lights. Does anyone know what sort of milage I should expect out of a full tank and more importantly, how far can I go once the fuel lights start flashing at me?
I don't ride it hard BTW. ____________________ www.dirtbikerejects.co.uk

range on my ZZR600 is 100 miles with a full tank, resverve is about 15 miles after that.
l guessing that because you don,t have a fuel gauge you have a "D" model which was produce pre-1993 (in 1993 the E1 was produced which l have). ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

on the other hand, my ZZR250 used to do 250 miles on a tank, due to the tank being massive and a four stroke 250 sips fuel ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Cheers for the replies, most helpfull.
As far as I know, there is no fuel tap (well I can't find one) so that means I can't flick it onto reserve. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, the knob things broke off me trip reset which makes it a bit difficult.
I'll work on the 100miles per tank and probably start looking for a petrol station after about 70 miles to be on the safe side. ____________________ www.dirtbikerejects.co.uk

my advanged Ignition, four-in-one full micron system and the fact that l thrash the living daylights out of it might be why

Used to have an H reg ZZR600. I'm convinced the red light wasn't a fuel guage but a "you just passed 100 miles-ometer" . Didn't matter if I was in town, on B roads or a motorway, it came on at almost exactly 100 miles every time.
Range to empty was around 30 miles after that, although I did manage exactly 16 once two up with lugage stuck in traffic on the way back from Alexander Palace (D'oh) |
