sell bike or not?

after moving closer to town i rarely use my bike anymore, had the fazer a few months and done under 300 miles, the longest trip was 24 miles for the mot or the 40 mile round trip to get my chain sorted.

ive ridden it once this week and that was to deliver something a mile away for a friend.

average about twice a week doing maybe 20 miles.

don't want to sell it but i have no use for it...

talk me round before i sell it bcf

Well, if you're not riding the bike for pleasure, i.e taking it for a Sunday jaunt - then yeah, why are you keeping it?

Only negative points are now isn't a good time to sell, with the bad weather and end of season.

Some wednesdays i go out to bike meet but thats about 2 miles from my house, dont really go for legal speed limit riding with mates that often

It's summer, sell bike at a good time and sit back and have a think over it. You may need a break from bikes or just wait until next spring if you have no personal transportation needs, and see if you get the itch to go for a ride?

I've had years away from riding bikes and even driving my own car's, and it's not all that often I miss it these days with the roads, traffic and idiots around.

If I didn't drive a works van several days a week, I could literally go weeks without driving on the roads sometimes.

I do have cars and bikes, but I like to be surrounded by things and I like to tinker, much more than I have a use or need for own transport these days. If I sold my car/bikes, I'd only go out and spend the cash on expensive mountain bikes and other unnecessary items.

if you have already paid insurance/tax you may as well keep it until that is mostly used. if your not doing miles its unlikely you'll get any costly repairs.

wouldn't have thought it would devalue that much more over another 9 months?

sell it now, it'll be easier to sell now with plenty of tax and mot rather then 6 months down the line where there's the risk it might not sell and you have to spend 60 quid getting it back on the road again and sell before October aswell before they bring that stupid tax debacle in.
