 |
|
My commute to work involves going over a rather large hill or two in the peak district and then a bit of city riding through Sheffield.
Its about 30 miles each way
My Bike is my main form of transport as my car is on its way out (I dont intend to replace it).
Along with getting a waterproof oversuit and warm gloves I'm thinking about getting a second bike. My current bike is a 918 fireblade which I love, but the tyres arent great in the proper wet, and then it sits outside the office window all day.
I think the second bike would ideally be powerful enough to overtake whilst going uphill. Not so powerful to be a handful in very wet conditions. Preferably light, ideally it wouldnt be too hard to handle if I did drop it and also preferably not to pricy if that happens too. Budget will be about £800 to £1000.
Does anybody have any good ideas on what would suit?
Perfectly open to all advice on riding through the winter in countryside and citys too.
If its really rough weather I can use the wifes car I guess.

You can fit a better set of tyres for that money. |
