Quick Question - Battery Charging Issue

Hello, dont want to come across as a thick cunt here, but just thought I'd get some reassurances before letting the bike out on the open road again.

As some of you may have noticed in my previous threads; I was having some charging issues with my bike that was cutting out after a few miles.

Replaced the stator and it seems to be working fine, but I don't want to take it out too far in case in breaks down again miles from home.

Battery was reading 12.7v before the test ride and was 13.2 when I came home. Took the bike 4 miles roughly (all uphill so that if it did break down I could coast home ) Gave it loads of revs, etc.

Also put the headlights on to try and use some battery juice just to make sure it was fixed.

Do you think it would be alright to use the bike normally again?

The bike was usually breaking down after a few miles as power wasn't recharging the battery.

It sounds alright .You had the lights on and when returning home and switching off the battery reads above 12.75 volts. Try measuring the voltage with the engine on just above Rickover it could read 13 to 13.5 volts which shows its charging.

If you start getting anymore electrical gremlins , especially flattening batteries or bad starting then clean the plugs and check the starter motor and solenoid as bikes that have been stored can have a habit of crudding up inside the starter motor.

Test the charge rate with the bike idling and fast idling @ roughly 4-5k......if its over 13.5v you're on to a winner,in theory a stator and reg/rec that are working efficiently will produce over 14v at idle,this ensures a good charge rate when your not giving it the berries....
