Prefer Ste's suggestion.

MC is gone best in the north east though.

Well it's certainly not the Bull Ring in Birmingham. That's a hateful place!

There are those that say that the only good out and about shopping is in London, as it's such a different place from anywhere else in the uk. Personally I don't know as I'd never go there and have zero interest!

The Bicester designer village was ok a few years back, but it's now very busy I'm told and they sell a lot more shit stuff than 5-8years ago when I last went.

I also went to that place down near Swindon but found it even more depressing and crap for parking too.

I use Merry Hill shopping centre near Dudley still from time to time, as I kind of know my way around there from years ago, and there's still a fair few shops of the type you'd visit to buy people Christmas presents from etc.

Not really for a shopping centre as such, but the last few times I've been up to Liverpool, I've found it really nice, modern and clean. So I'd probably give shopping a go there maybe?

Otherwise I'd rarther avoid shopping centres as such and just go to a nice interesting historic city for a look around. My favourite being places like Lichfield, Worcester etc.

Trafford Center, plenty of shop and food outlets and free parking Thumbs Up I only use manchester Arndale if I can't get it at TC or online as their parking is very expensive

Meadowhall and the Trafford Centre are the two best I've been to up north, Gunwharf Quays and West Quay down south.

Personally I hate shopping and shopping centres but each of those is vaguely tolerable.

Bicester Village, round my way, is a pile of pretentious wank catering to tourists, the TOWIEesque and serial credit card abusers. It pitches itself as high-end but do the seriously rich truly shop at discounted designer outlets? I doubt it very much.

Arndale is useless, nothing there that isn't at Trafford Centre, it's small. Only use it for picking work stuff up as I'm in the city centre.

dislike the trafford centre, it's 98% clothes shops of clothes I'd never buy, always hammered and all the surfaces are too reflective and cause me some weird temporary blindness occasionally. good for places to eat though
