So 6 months on, Xbox One or PS4...?

So, I'm a very casual (older) gamer, playing infrequently but I did like a good go on GTA5 and love a decent driving game, usually Forza.

I've just got myself a new TV and was thinking about a Blu-ray player so though maybe I might as well opt for one of the new consoles. Now they've been out for a while, is there a clear leader? I've had a look on some sites but they're all full on fan boys and it's hard to get an objective view.

Traditionally I've been an Xbox owner, but the yearly subscription to Xbox Live isn't great value for me as I don't play that often so am leaning towards the PS4. I can't think of any xbox exclusive games that would be a deal breaker for me, except maybe Forza, but the upcoming Project Cars on both systems looks like it has Forza matched.

So BCF, what's the situation now they've been out a while?

Im the same as you, i hardly play but when i do its not for that long. I went for the PS4 and so far i don't regret it but its hard to justify the price of games (I'm getting old i remember cheeper games ). I bought it as i really really like the look of TC The Division and still do....

Xbox gets my vote. Own the xbox and housemate has a ps4 and I definitely prefer the xbox although the ps4 is still very good

Not much in it really, xbox just has more extra features and handles media better etc. Doubt you'll be disappointed either way. I'd buy what your friends have (if anyone you know has one )

For the casual gamer, PS4, it would be my choice (i'm very similar, finally turned my PS3 a month ago after having a break for about 2yrs lol).

If you like to play online and infrequently there's no way I'd be paying for it.

ps4 gets my vote i got the ps4 and my brother has the xbone, and its done me proud, its not a gaming pc (which i also have and its ace) but when i casual game its well worth the money

I've traded my PS4 and upgraded my PC to be able to handle new games.

Why? Well the PS4 has a HTML5 browser and it's not all there yet, so when you watch porn, you can't skip the foreplay.

Thanks for the info everyone. I've read that the PS4 plays games in a higher resolution and the games look slightly better, but I prefer the Xbox controller.

Also, another big factor, the 10 year old of the house has all his mates on Xbox Live....

There was a thing at E3 where they got people to play Alien with a VR headset on and everybody ripped it off after a few minutes.

I've just read that my Xbox360 steering wheel can't be used on the Xbox One. Thanks MS, looks like I'll have to jump ship to Sony.
