Right. Suzuki GSXR 600. I heard that Akrapovich Exhausts are the ones to go for-although more expensive, they work out best value for money.

Here's the Q. Can any old mechanic fit it (i wouldn't dare to myself) or do you have to take it to a speialist place to do it?

Also:

Where is the best place to get hold of one- ie- ordering online, or going to a specific place???

Ta.

Hi mate I found when fitting my Micron to my ZX-6R I had to alighn it perpendicular to my bike by eye and then tighten the supplied wiggins clamp, then start and take the bike out for a nice fast run meaning over 60MPH then return home to re-tighten the wiggins clamp because the metal expands and contracts under heat changes thus requiring a good firm torque setting other wise you will hear a vibration, it will just be the conection coming loose so there you go, no need for a specialist job because they will probably be a bit heavy handed and will probably cause a scratch here or there Very Happy

My new can is ariving tomorrow, ill let you know how easy it is to fit when i've got it on. It isnt ment to be that difficult. as for which can to go for they all give a max of a few BHP increase, most people choose there can for ehat looks or sounds the best. E-bay is a good source for cans i got a nearly new Carbon Can Co can for myhornet, cost me 99 quid, they retale at over £220.

Just the can itself is piss easy, on my CBR it's a case of undoing 2 bolts and doing them up again. Just do it yourself.

Hmmm. No doubt i'll find a way of titting it up!

Well i guess the thing to do is to order the can and see what it looks like.

Right next stage, get the bike. (jees-i been waiting 2 weeks for the dealer to get it).

Hmmm usually the person at a local dealer that knows what there doing and does all the small easy jobs is the same guy that isn't capable of doing the more complex jobs any body know who I am talking about? it's that skinny young apprentice a.k.a. the lacky! I seen the lacky at my Kawasaki Dealer and am not confident in him holding a spanner, or something more devastating like a Hammer Shocked but seriously I HAVE SEEN him drop a brand new Dirtbike of some king like a KLR 650 or something, he just held the bike up, slipped in that triangular shaped dirtbike stand thing and went to pick a tool up when CRASH down she come! it is this very same reason that I decided to fit my own Micron Can, Oggy Knobs, Under Tray, Tank Pad, Double Bubble Screen! lets face it the apprentice is cheap labour and can do the easy jobs so why pay an expert? in my opinion just do yours in stages by removing each bolt one at a time and if you have any problems just ask BCF we're here to help Very Happy it's all baby steps for us all when we are learning basic mechanics, in my car I didn't know how to do an oil change 5 years ago and now I can do full Transmission changes, Differential changes basically any job on a car except remove and replace the engine for some reason it has survived all my addolecent years of constant abuse Wink so just take your time and you will be suprised how easy and fast you learn best of luck mate Thumbs Up

I'm sure the Venom will be fine mate.

Best advice i can give it to get everything on but don't tighten anything until you're happy. Nip everything up and take it for a ride. When you get back be careful of the hot pipe and can but check the clamps / bolts again and nip up any that seem to have loosened. The metal expands when it's hot and can loosen things but if you nip it up when it's still hot they'll be rock solid when it cools and contracts again Thumbs Up (advice taken from MCN 19/01/05, but also from my brain Wink )

If you're not happy with the Venom, Arrow have a long standing relationship with Suzuki and the GSXR and their titanium cans are stunning (but pricey)
