Tidying up/replacing clocks, no idea where/when I picked this one up, but it's quite small & neat, only goes to 60 so it'll do for the little Honda.
Went to fit it, and it doesn't fit! I then realised I've only ever changed speedos/cables on Honda bikes, and they've always been the same connection, which I just assumed to be a universal thing?
This one seems to be a miniature version of what I'm used to, does anyone know what it is? Has the same screw on design, but smaller, and the same square hole for the cable, but smaller.
Can I find a cheap adapter or am I better off just looking for another cheap speedo?
Added pics, for what they're worth
Last pic shows the front just Incase it's not a generic thing and somebody recognises it

It's off an export model simson S51.
You will notice the euro-style 1 on the back of the clock with no underscore and the use of a comma instead of a decimal point.

You'd need a speedo cable with a honda speedo drive fitting at one end and a simson clock fitting at the other.
Then keep your fingers crossed that they both use the same gear ratios in their speedos.
In other words, do-able but may be tricky and possibly quite inaccurate.
If you are very lucky, Simson might use the same speedo drive fitting as honda in which case you could use a simson speedo cable.
Almost certainly cheaper and easier to just use a honda speedo. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I know the mz speedo mate is square cut, so presume the Simson one is. The honda speedo cable might just fit in it as a guess, i think they're roughly the same size. Which leaves merely the issue of ratio. Get back to us! ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11
