Well we've all either been there or it's coming soon.

You have just passed your bike test, got yourself some insurance and your own bike at home. So whats going through your head? Share your experiances...

For me personally i have not yet gone for that first ride alone after passing my test, let that be this thursday Praying

. Anyways i have a lovely RVF400 just waiting for me, i mean shes quite a bit different to the 125 ive been learning on. I'm scared yet excited, it's silly.

Hmmm, first thoughts...

Errr... I think mine was "why won't this fuggin bike start?". Then it was "How much is it going to cost!?"

But when I actually monanged to ride it (about 2 months later) the main things going through my mind were all the things I was told on the CBT, and trying to remember what to do and not to do on roundabouts etc.

Personally, I couldn't wait to get home and get on the bike. I must admit, going out on a 600 compared to the 500 I learnt on was a bit intimidating, but it had to be done!

Sad thing was I had to wait for over Evil or Very Mad

while I advised the insurance company that I had passed my test. I had to fax a copy of the pass certificate etc, just for them to say it was OK! There was no way I was going to risk riding without sorting it first!

On first ride, worried about the wobbles, the turns and everything else, but you soon get over it. Still trying to master some of it nearly a year on!

My first ride after the cbt i was a disaster, clutch control was all over the place, it would take a couple of attempts to get away or would launch with a bump then popping the front wheel up in the air, all the time on a derbi gpr50!

After passing my full test was teh best rider though the freedom you got of having no stupid L's on the bike and feeling like you have become a proper biker! all be it still one a 125.

My thoughts were:

1. EEEEh pretty nippy Shocked

: came from poodling around on 125 test bikes to 60bhp. Couldn't resist letting it rip. Mr. Green

2. O crap it's well hard to steer. Sports bikes need leanage. Takes a while to pick up. When you do it's great. Don't get over confident.

3. O crap, how many times do I want to stall it? Laughing

. Clutch and throttle will feel razor sharp compared to a 125 2t. Laughing

Suspect you may feel the same way. Similar bikes. Take it easy and you'll be ok, especially round the bends. Razz

Having never ridden a sportsbike before, getting on a TZR125 frame was awfully strange.

As for the ride... I jsut wanted to open the throttle as often as possible.

From what i gather then its pretty much just getting used to more power plus the weight. I'll take it easy for sure, i mean i'll be thinking i don't want to repair this lol Very Happy

If you have it on 33BHP it should be fine, Just don't go stupid and there isn't ridiculous amounts of power there. Wait a few weeks untill you remove the restrictors tho. Wink

Get certificates/restrictors people. If you have to produce and you don't have them you will look silly, and be in deep doodoo Shocked

My 1st ride was test riding my GPZ500 200 miles from home, then caning it down the M5, freezing my tits off wearing inappropriate clothes.

But the best bit was when I exited the motorway and opened her up past 8000rpm for the 1st time - BIG, BIG GRIN !!!!!

Don't have to do CBT over here so my first ride on a bike by myself was when I left the shop after pointing at the cbr and saying "I'll have that one, please" It felt so good (once i got out of 1st gear) I think the first ride on the zx6 was scarier.

My first solo ride on my 125 was great, I thought, wow freedom.

For my very first ride my dad stayed very close behind on his VFR800 just to make sure I didn't die.

Can't wait to take my XJ600 out, straight down the A12 to see how it feels to do 70 without needing a 2 mile run-up.
