Hi I am new to the site and was hoping somebody could help me with an intermittant fault i have on the bike. I am due to go away in september abroad and obviously want everything ok.
When i press the starter button to fire up the engine i have sometimes been getting a very slow start up sound without the engine firing then it dies. I try several times with the same end result. So now i am thinking 'low battery' but on trying again the engine fires and all is fine. Just worrying because this has happened to me now on several occasions out of the blue and i fear the next time the engine won't fire.
Don't mind paying for replacement parts or new battery. Just i don't want to be buying parts for the sake of it when not required.
Anybody who has experienced similar issues and resolved please reply or if there are any genius's on here with answers would reaaly appreciate a little help.
Cheers in advance matt |

hi, near bottom of the problem but it has cost me the earth
it is a faulty starter motor and apparently they are a renowned problem on this model of bandit (gsf650k7) and the biggest downer is i am now £488 lighter just for the item. then there is fitting and diagnostics charges
oh and the battery i bought too!
hopefully when it arrives i can enjoy the bike again as i am due on a european bike trip on the 18th of this month.
note to self: never buy japanese again. buy a bike with plentiful spares going on ebay |
