Hey up,

I'm looking to buy a new breath deflector as my Oxford one is knackered and it leaves huge red lines across my face which is pretty embarrassing after riding to work. Especially as they don't go away until about an hour later!

Have tried the Foggy ones but didn't find it so great.

Has anyone had any better luck with a different kind? Or know of any nice flat edged ones that don't give my cheeks a chelsea smile?

Any help appreciated!

To stop visor misting up? get a decent lid instead.

I recommend Shark S900, tho Im sure there are others with the built in deflector of awesomeness. Had it since feb, never had a misty visor.

Yeah as above... Pinlock.
Hadn't been invented 20 odd years ago last time I had a bike as far as I know.
What a fantastic invention and worth spending the extra on a good lid just for this feature alone.
I'm looking at the yellow inserts at the moment as I'm quite sensitive to glare, particularly when
its dark and oncoming headlights. I wear yellow plain lensed glasses at night if I'm driving for any
appreciable distance and I find they really help.
I'm hoping the yellow insert will work the same way.
But getting back to pinlock, no matter how much I try I can't make it steam up. How I wish there had
been such a thing in my pizza delivery days 25 years ago when I was out in all weathers on a moped. Laughing

Was there ever a recall or fix for that? Mine is still dodgy so I don't use it anymore.

Ive never had this issue, and it is by far the best lid I have owned. The only problem with mine is its getting old, scratched and its been dropped (and rolled down a hill when a bitch kicked my bike over), the visor does not seal perfectly anymore so get a small blast of cold air in my eyes. I have a perfect condition S600 in garage, but still prefer this Laughing

Aye, mine does this and it's bloody annoying. It only seems to happen on motorways though. Probably due to increased speed and wind.

It's a shame really, as apart from that, it's a great lid and fits my head perfectly.Whereas a lot of other lids don't.

Will sort out getting a pin lock insert thing for it and give that a go.

I tried various things to stop my visor from misting up in the past with varying levels of success. Then I got a pinlock insert about two years ago and it's practically 100% perfect for the job. You do tend to get a little bit more glare from headlighs if you're using it when it's dark but, not too much to affect you though.

Much appreciated info about the glare. I do get huge streaks off lights at night so I'll give it a go and see how I find it. It will probably be alright and does seem the better option!

You're welcome. Thumbs Up

You can get yellow tinted pinlocks, which some people say helps reduce glaring but, I've not tried one myself as the extra glare is minimal, so not a major issue.

EDIT: You do realise you'll need a Pinlock ready visor to fit a pinlock into, as you need the two pins in the visor for the insert to clip in.

Thanks for the heads up.

I bought mine online and it came with a chin curtain but, this obviously doesn't stop the problem. Don't know if I'll bother trying to find a dealer around here to get it sent off for sorting. There's only one locally and they initially were reluctant to sort a warranty issue out with my Yamaha bike, as I hadn't bought it from them.

Interesting.

I bought my lid used in Jan this year (in perfect condition I should add, though not any more Laughing ) Do the mechanisms look different? how can I tell which I have got? Im planning to get another S900..

My visor does not open at high speeds but it has done once. Perhaps was not fitted perfectly.
