am I being stupid? wheel touching ground on centre stand

Just tried to check my chain tension in the car park at work,

I always park in the same spot each day and had the bike on the centre stand in this spot before but today the back wheel was touching the ground still.

Have I just found a dip in the car park (did move the bike back a bit and tried again and got enough clearance to spin the wheel) or has something gone wrong with my suspension / stand or has my new-ish shock just bedded in and allowing a bit more sag than before?

why are you checking your chain tension with no weight on the bike,
first off,
second your new shock is new so probably doesnt have as much sag, therefore longer not shorter than the old one

I've read about this happening when people put 1200 shocks in without changing the dog bones, or just changing the dogs without shocks etc.

Is your new shock a zzr600 shock?

Yeah perhaps there's a slight dip in the road, let's face it, the clearance isn't huge anyway.

How evenly balanced is it? Could a full tank of fuel make the difference in weight over the front of the bike?

Would expect any dip that made that much difference to be quite obvious.

As to adjusting the chain tension with the suspension under load, why? The chain slack would then vary depending on the load, while the amount required to allow the rear wheel to move would be pretty constant (ie, even the lightest rider is still going to compress the suspension enough to get the chain to be tight when they hit a bump).
